ABSTRACT: INTRODUCTION: The dermatophytoses and Onychomycosis are part of a group of superficial mycoses able to injure keratinized tissues of the skin, hair and nails. Dermatophytes are classified into three genera: Trichophyton, Microsporum and Epidermophyton, which includes about 40 species. Onychomycosis can be caused by yeasts of the Genera Candida, dermatophyte and non-dermatophytes that has a prevalence of 4 to 18% in the population. The dermatophytic Onychomycosis (tinea unguium) occurs in three distinct forms: distal Subungual (most common); proximal Subungual; and superficial white. Distal Subungual Onychomycosis is most common and is usually caused by the fungus Trichophyton rubrum. Yeast Onychomycosis is caused in most cases by Candida albicans, and can occur in the hands of who are often exposed to water, such as waiters and maids. OBJECTIVES: the objective of this study is to evaluate the antifungal susceptibility profile in causative agents of dermatophytoses and onychomycoses diagnosed in patients seen by private network Lab of Maceió, Alagoas. MATERIALS AND METHODS: after release of the report by the technician responsible for the laboratory, fungi obtained from positive samples for mycological diagnosis were ceded and sent to the microbiology lab of UNIT to be purified and identified. For the test of susceptibility was used the Agar diffusion technique, following the criteria established by M44-A2 for the yeast fungi and M38-A2 to filamentous fungi from CLSI. The samples were subjected to incubation at room temperature, for 72 hours for filamentous and 48 hours for yeasts. After growth, was prepared a suspension of yeast-like fungi in physiological saline solution (NaCl 0,85%) with turbidity equivalent to 2 tube of McFarland range (106 cells/mL), and spread with sterile Swab in three directions on surface of the Agar Sabouraud (supplemented with 2% glucose and 0.5 μg/ml of methylene blue). Where wells were drilled on the surface of agar with sterile tips and added 30 μl of the following antifungal: fluconazole, itraconazole, amphotericin B and Ketoconazole. The plates were incubated at 35° C for 24 hours. The analysis of tests was performed through the formation of the halo of growth inhibition, this being measured with lens rule, comparing the sensitivity profile with the parameters recommended by the Protocol. RESULTS: Analysis in progress. CONCLUSION: this research will allow the clinical larger objectivity in the choice of a suitable therapy, front of antifungals used, also demonstrate the importance of susceptibility testing in vitro, as some fungi isolated from the same species have different sensitivity profiles.

Keywords: Filamentous, Leveduriformes, Diagnosis.

Referências/references:

ARAÚJO, S.M. et al.
